Snowmaker

Reporting to the Outside Operations Supervisor, this individual will be responsible to produce excellent Snow through the operation of Snowmaking System. Position is at times directed towards work hours when temperatures drop below freezing level.

 

Chicopee Tube Park support and focuses attention on Workers as well as Guest safety. This means adhering to by Park policies as posted.

Specific Duties will Include:

  1. Assist with other maintenance activities such as the repair and maintenance of non-licensed vehicles, Lift Installation, and general repairs.

  2. When operational assist in the effective performance of the Snowmaking System. This by monitoring Snowmax injection system, wet well water levels and pressure reading for both air and water, on an inspection cycle bases.

  3. Responsible for walkway Snow removal, fueling equipment and circle checking of Lift and Park facilities when Snowmaking system is operational.

  4. Monitor wind directions, temperature changes, while ensuring accurate gun placements for effective slope coverage.

  5. Responsible for monitoring all Snowmaking equipment on an operating shift bases, ensuring that manufacture’s guidelines and manuals are followed.

  6. Ensuring that all Snowmaking activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.

  7. Ensure that Installations such as Conveyor Lift and Day Lodge Balcony are not being impacted by Snowmaking production.

  8. Ensuring the Park Slope, Parking Lots & Grounds are kept attractive and litter free providing an excellent Guest Environment.

  9. Perform such other related duties as directed by the Outside Operations Supervisor.

 

Working knowledge of compressors and pumps is beneficial along with having an operational understanding of electrical systems. Awareness of the dangers involved with high-pressure vessels, and knowledgeable of restarting the system after emergency shutdowns an asset.

 

Qualifications: 

The following abilities are critical to the position of a Snowmaker:
  1. Develop and maintain high standards in Snow quality.

  2. Demonstrate the ability, confidence, and strength to move snowmaking equipment in unusual slope surface and weather conditions. 

  3. Develop, foster and sustain effective working relationships with other Snowmaking Team members.

  4. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and work night shifts when required.

 

Wage Range: $17.50 to 19.00

This position involves working scheduled hours that may include day, evening, weekends, and statutory holidays.
